Finally, you will have the chance to learn all about how to create and/or decorate a real Venetian mask, witness first-hand a demonstration of the iconic glass-blowing technique and sip on a Spritz whilst aboard a boat admiring the Venice Lagoon at sunset… you will leave with the fondest memories of a city that everyone must visit at least once in their lifetime!

day 1

The "Pearl of the Lagoon": Venice

Welcome to the ancient Maritime Republic of Venice, the city built on water par excellence. A concentration of canals, evocative bridges, ancient churches, historic buildings, districts, fields, squares, alleyways, streets and incredible museums preserved in the beautiful historic centre, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Take a pleasant stroll channelling the relaxed rhythms of the past, to discover the main monuments and places of interest the city has to offer.

From the beautiful Piazza San Marco, one of the most visited and photographed Italian squares in the world thanks also to the presence of the unmissable Basilica of San Marco, with its enchanting mosaics, the Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and its evocative arcades; to the famous Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal, passing through special places such as the Doge’s Palace and the Marciana National Library… you will admire the best that the “pearl of the Lagoon” has to offer.

And when the sunlight begins to paint the city with the warm tones of the sunset you will be waiting aboard a typical Venetian boat for a delicious aperitif enjoying some relaxing , an excellent Spritz and the incredible views of the Venice Lagoon from the unique perspective of the water!

day 2

Discovering the Cannaregio district between hidden corners and Venetian masks

You will get to discover one of the most authentic yet least known places in Venice: the Cannaregio district, where the oldest Jewish Ghetto in the world is located and some of the best craft shops in the city.

Captivated by the charm of the so-called “high zone”, you will enter the ghetto through a small “sotoportego” (a characteristic passageway underneath a building) to marvel at its architecture, to learn to recognize the old synagogues (schole) and to discover the ancient pawn shops such as the “Red Bank” where Jews lent money with interest or in exchange for objects left in pledge.

You will then have the chance to visit a historic mask shop to discover the fascinating world of traditional Venetian masks, which are crafted from papier-mâché, glue, fabrics, colours and endless decorations. Here you will be welcomed by an expert masquerade craftsman who will explain the history of Venetian masks such as the “Baùta”, the “Moretta” or the “Doctor of the Plague” and how they were not always used as part of the celebrations of the famous Venice Carnival, before teaching you how to create and/or decorate a real Venetian mask yourself.

During this experience you will have the opportunity to choose on-site whether to take part in a creation or decoration class or both. At the first lesson you will learn how to place and glue the papier-mâché in a mould to shape the mask and the second lesson will teach you all about how to paint and decorate it… in any case, whatever lesson you choose, you can take home your creation just in time for Carnival.

day 3

The Prosecco Hills and Asolo

This will be a relaxing day to unwind away from the crowds and the confusion of the city, in a location that combines art, history, food, wine, enchanting landscapes and ancient medieval villages at the foot of the green hills under the Dolomites, in the Treviso area.

On board a convenient private car, you will be accompanied to discover the enchanting landscape of the Valdobbiadene hills where, surrounded by the splendid vineyards used for the production of the famous Prosecco D.O.C., you will visit one of the most famous family-run wineries in the area.

Sitting back and listening to interesting fun facts and all about the secrets and techniques that make this Italian wine so special, you will take a walk through evocative rows of vines clinging to hills listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site; get to visit the production area and take part in an unmissable and mouth-watering tasting of “bubbles” accompanied by various appetizers and delicious local products.

It will then be time to go to Asolo, one of the most beautiful villages in Veneto, defined by Carducci: the “city of a hundred horizons” due to the enchanting landscape that surrounds it and its splendid panoramic views… a place where you will not be able to resist taking beautiful photos and lose yourself in the historic streets, such as Via Browning with its arcades and craft shops; ancient buildings, Hanseatic houses with their over flowing flowered balconies, before discovering the beautiful Piazza Garibaldi with its beautiful fountain.

day 4

Murano, Burano and Torcello… Goodbye until the next experience

Get ready for a fascinating experience aboard a characteristic water taxi to discover the most famous islands of the Venice Lagoon: the beautiful Murano, Burano and Torcello.

Once you have landed on the island of Murano, known all over the world for the production of glass, you will visit a real workshop and get to witness a demonstration of the traditional Venetian glass blowing technique used for hundreds of years.

You will then stop off on the colourful island of Burano, where you can relaxingly browse its typical coloured houses while you will search for the skilled “lace makers” who are experts in the creation and sale of precious lace and local embroidery made using the laborious “tombolo” technique.

Finally, you will disembark on the ancient island of Torcello for a relaxing walk where , among other things, you will admire Venice’s oldest Cathedral with its mosaics and beautiful Byzantine marble decorations.

Your experience ends today, but the memory of the emotions you experienced in the Venice Lagoon will stay with you forever!
