Milan is one of the most underrated Italian cities because it is mistakenly thought that being the economic capital of the “Bel Paese” is just a place where there is a lot of money but not necessarily a lot to see. So wrong! Milan is a metropolis with a thousand shades, all different and as equally fascinating. The city knows how to be unpleasant, grey and lonely; but also sociable, eccentric and lively. Not forgetting the underlying creative verve that has led it over time to become a reference point for the fields of art, fashion, design, architecture and hi-tech. And a cuisine that despite being less known than those much more coveted cities such as Florence, Rome or Naples, will regale you with traditional dishes, aperitifs and new trends of street food, amazing discoveries and so rich in taste. This beautiful city has much more to offer than just simply its surface beauty and this experience will give you the chance to discover all of this and more… are you ready to go?

day 1

Welcome to the fashion capital: Milan

Milan is undoubtedly the Italian capital of fashion and ranks with New York, Paris and London among the so-called “Fashion Big Four”, the four most important cities in the world for the fashion sector.

Your experience begins in the famous “Quadrilatero della Moda”, which takes its name for the bordering streets of luxury boutiques called Via Montenapoleone, Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia.

Here you can breathe in the magical atmosphere of Milan, while you stroll around amongst parked supercars, luxury boutiques, historic shops, perfumeries and elegant ateliers that attract visitors from everywhere for shopping or simply to admire the window displays that are often real design compositions themselves.

You can then meander up to the beautiful Palazzo Morando for a very interesting visit to the Costume Fashion Image collection, where you will admire the works of an art gallery that will project you into sections of Milanese life spanning the seventeenth and early nineteenth centuries; before browsing the more than 6000 artefacts such as ancient clothes, high fashion and ready-to-wear clothes, uniforms and accessories, thanks to which you can better understand the history of costume and the evolution of fashion in past centuries.

day 2

Armani and Prada… not just fashion!

This day is dedicated to an immersive experience in the world of two of the most famous Italian brands in the world: Armani and Prada, synonymous with luxury, elegance and Made in Italy excellence.

You will be accompanied on a journey through Armani’s 40-year career with a visit to the fascinating Armani/Silos, an exhibition space of 4,500 square meters in the perfect style of “King George”, which is home to a selection of about 600 pieces and 200 accessories from the eighties to today, divided by themes that have inspired and continue to inspire the creations of Giorgio Armani.

Then, in between lively chatter will then go on to visit the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II where you will discover one of the most beautiful and refined shops in all of Milan: the Prada shop.

On the ground floor you will see beautiful custom-made mahogany shelves, which proudly display wonderful bags, trunks, travel accessories, shoes and clothing from the latest collections, as well as a selection of iconic products that have contributed to the brand’s fame.

Upstairs you will pass in a flash from high fashion to high pastry, with a tasty stop at a branch of the historic Pasticceria Marchesi, whose furnishings have been curated by Miuccia Prada herself; here you will take part in a delicious tasting of panettone and pandoro with spicy zabaglione sauce, hot chocolate, cream and vanilla ice cream.

On the top floor you can browse an exhibition space dedicated to exhibitions and artistic installations, embellished with a splendid view of the Gallery and the Milanese skyline.

Finally, you’ll move on to the outskirts of the city to discover the Prada Foundation, a brand new exhibition space created by the redevelopment of an old distillery by Archistar Koolhaas, which currently houses works of art mainly from the 20th and 21st centuries, selected directly by Miuccia Prada with the collaboration of Maurizio Bertelli.

When you get peckish, you can opt for a lunch or even just a snack at the charming Bar Luce, a retro-chic bar designed by Wes Anderson.

day 3

Unbridled Shopping and street food

A luxurious Maserati with a personal driver or public transport? Whatever your choice, you will enjoy an exclusive shopping experience during which, together with a professional personal shopper who will suggest clothes and accessories most suited to your style and your needs, you will discover the most luxurious shopping streets of Milan in search of the perfect purchase to renew or embellish your wardrobe.

After that it will be time to discover the charming Brera district with a pleasant walk in the company of a friendly gastronomic guide with whom you will discover that Milan is not just a city to visit, but also to enjoy. Captivated by stories about the history of Milanese food and street food, you’ll stop off at various restaurants, cafés and markets to delight your palate with some of the city’s tastiest food.

From traditional local dishes such as risotto with saffron, to the excellent mondeghili (meatballs breaded and fried in butter); from the fine culatello to pastries and chocolates of various tastes, shapes and colours; accompanying everything with a delicious craft beer and the unmissable aperitif in Milanese style… it will be the apotheosis of taste!

day 4

Between rolling hills and fine wines: Franciacorta

You are now entering the enchanting territory of Franciacorta, far from the confusion and crowds of Milan; a succession of rolling hills and woods, breath-taking views, ancient villages and rows of perfectly aligned vines whose grapes produce one of the best sparkling wines in the world: Franciacorta D.O.C.G.

Captured by the charm of these places, you will enter the delightful world of Lombardy wines with an interesting visit to a small winery in the area to admire the vineyards and to understand more about the techniques of production, aging, preservation and bottling of Franciacorta D.O.C.G. sparkling wine, before appreciating a delicious final tasting.

You will then get to feast on a delicious lunch in a farmhouse or in a trattoria in the area, where you can taste local specialties such as casoncelli alla bresciana (fresh stuffed pasta) and beef with Rovato oil.

To round off your experience today, you will have the opportunity to admire the ancient Castle of Bornato and take a relaxing walk on Lake Iseo or Montisola, the largest lake island in Europe.

day 5

Treasures of Milan: from the Last Supper to the splendid Duomo

In addition to being the city of fashion and design, finance and hi-tech… Milan is also the city of art. Here numerous illustrious personalities from the past have found their inspiration, from artists, musicians, writers and scientists including the brilliant Leonardo Da Vinci, who made this city his main place of work for many years.

Today you will be accompanied to discover the incredible masterpiece “The Last Supper” and the beautiful Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as one of the greatest testimonies of Italian Renaissance art.

Then you will visit the Castello Sforzesco with its beautiful gardens, before admiring Piazza dei Mercanti, a small medieval jewel surrounded by arcades and loggias, which was once the host of the city’s commercial and administrative life; the magnificent Teatro alla Scala (from outside only) and the lively Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a true symbol of Italian excellence.

Finally, you will be left speechless by the imposing mass of the Cathedral of Milan (from outside only), a marvel in Gothic-Lombard style on whose highest spire stands the golden statue of the Madonnina, a symbol of the city of Milan.

day 6

Sunset cruise on Lake Maggiore with aperitif

Get ready for a romantic sunset experience which will take you on an enchanting tour of the impressive Borromean Islands, a perfect mix of art, culture and nature, nestled in the waters of one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy: Lake Maggiore.

When the sunlight begins to colour everything with the warm tones of the sunset, you will board a comfortable boat from where, between one stop and another, you will get to take some beautiful photographs, discover the spectacular Italian Baroque garden of Isola Bella with its terraces, the magnificent English gardens of Isola Madre and the picturesque Isola dei Pescatori (Upper Island), the only one that is inhabited all year round.

To round your trip off, you will take part in a delicious aperitif on board and sip some excellent Prosecco whilst you take in the evocative landscapes of the lake at sunset… which will leave you with memories of a uniquely charming experience!
