Tour 7 days – 6 nights
1st Day: Tour start, Verona
Group arrives in Verona and transfers to hotel. Free time for a first city tour. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd Day: Verona, Padua
Breakfast at the hotel and Verona city tour. The historic centre remained splendidly intact over the centuries with its churches, squares and museums. The tour starts at the Arena, an ancient Roman theatre now housing prestigious opera performances, and continues to Piazza delle Erbe, surrounded by buildings and antique houses, some of which are still adorned with frescoes and marble pillars. The tour continues with the “House of Juliet”, a Gothic building once allegedly owned by the Capulet family with the famous balcony in the inner court, and ends at the elegant Piazza dei Signori which looks like an open air “living room”. We will have lunch during the visit. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd Day: Verona, Vicenza, Padua
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Vicenza. It is universally known as Palladio’s city, the great architect who left to this city most of his amazing masterpieces. Our visit will start with the Olimpic Theatre considered the spiritual heritage of the architect who died in 1580 soon after finishing the project. We will then visit the Basilica Palladiana with its massive superstructure made of a double series of loggias and the Chiericati Palace, an innovative project in Palladio’s vision, which is both a city building and a suburban villa. Since 1855 it has housed the Civic Museum of Vicenza. Lunch. Free time. We will then depart for Padua. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4th Day: Padua, Treviso, Padua
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Treviso with its characteristic canals through the quiet river Sile runs among porticos, antique monuments and wonderful houses embellished with frescoes. Treviso with its gracious historic centre is one of the typical walled cities of the region. Lunch. We will return to Padua and we will visit this city known to the world as the city of St. Antonio. Many artists left their heritage here. In fact the city houses the fourteenth century Giotto’s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel, Giusto de’ Menabuoi’s frescoes which embellish the walls of the Duomo and Baptistery, Donatello’s and Tiziano’s pieces of art in the Basilica of the Saint, Mantegna’s paintings in the Ovetari agli Eremitani Chapel. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5th Day: Padua, Brenta’s boat tour, Chioggia
Breakfast at the hotel and Riviera del Brenta’s boat tour along the path of the ancient Burchielli. We will board from Padua heading to Venice. During our boat tour we will see coastal towns, small villages, swing bridges and several villas such as the superb Villa Giovanelli in Noventa Padovana, one of the most beautiful of Veneto’s villas from late sixteenth-century, Villa Pisani in Stra, Villa Widmann and Villa Foscari also known as “la Malcontenta”. We will have lunch during our tour. At the end of our boat tour we will disembark and depart for Chioggia. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
6th Day: Chioggia, Venice, Verona
Breakfast at the hotel and Venice city tour. It is a magical and wonderful place, unique and elegant with its thousand facets and enchanting glimpses. It is an historic city which has been the crossroads of cultures and trade. We will take a walk in the city centre to discover the most charateristic places: St. Mark Square, the Basilica with its Tower Bell, the Doge’s Palace which was the seat of government of Serenissima, the Sospiri Bridge, the Piombi, the Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal which divides the city into two and the Giudecca Canal which separates the historic centre from Giudecca Island. We will have lunch during the visit. At the end of our tour we will depart for Verona. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
7th Day: Verona, Departure
Breakfast at the hotel, free time and departure.
