Tour 6 days – 5 nights


1st Day: Tour start, Turin

Group arrives in Turin and transfers to hotel. Free time for a first city tour. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

2nd Day: Turin

Breakfast at the hotel and Turin city tour which is a forever changing city. Today it shows its most modern look through the Savoy’s residences, the porticos, the museums and the art galleries. We will visit the most interesting sights such as the Cathedral of St. John, the Roman Vestiges, the Palatine Towers, the ruins of the Roman Theatre, the Royal Church of St. Lawrence, the outside of the Royal Palace, Madama Palace and the Royal Theatre. We will also visit the Gallery of Industria Subalpina and Carignano and San Carlo squares. Lunch. We will visit the Egyptian Museum, second only to the Museum in Cairo. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

3rd Day: Turin, Langhe

Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Langhe. We will have a panoramic view of the splendid Langhe of Barolo and Tartufo. We will arrive in Alba and will visit the military fortress with its very particular “keep” structure from where you can enjoy a wonderful view. Our tour continues with a visit to the Castle of Grinzane Cavour with its massive and perfectly conserved medieval structure where Camillo Benso count of Cavour used to live. The cellars of the castle host the Regional Winehouse where it is possible to taste and buy wines and other typical products. Lunch. We will then depart for Alba, the “capital city of Langhe”, travelling along the ancient Roman roads like “Alba Pompeia” with its towers, medieval palaces and majestic churches such as the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

4th Day: Turin, Venaria, Aosta

Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Venaria Reale. We will visit the Royal Palace whose enchanting seventeenth-century areas such as Diana’s room, the elegant Grand Gallery and the solemnity of the Chapel of St. Umberto are some of the most interesting sights of our tour. We will walk for almost 2000 m. between the noble floor and the basement. Lunch. We will depart for Aosta at the end of our visit. Upon arrival we will meet our guide for a city tour. Founded by the Romans, this city still conserves its original vestiges like the unique Arch of Augustus, the Porta Praetoria and the walls. The Cathedral and the Collegiata di Sant’Orso are medieval masterpieces housing important artworks. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

5th Day: Aosta, the Castles, Turin

Breakfast at the hotel and depart for a visit to the region’s castles. We will first visit the Castle of Fenis, a medieval gem surrounded by green fields which combines both the looks of a defensive fortress and noble residence. We will continue with the Castles of Issogne and Verres. Lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Forte Bard which was a fortified complex dating backto the dark Ages and which is today the “fortress of culture”. This impressive and fascinating structure was renewed in 1996 and houses today the “Museum of the Alps”, museum of the Western Alps, the “Prisons”, an itinerary dedicated to the military site, and various rooms used for exhibits of ancient, modern and contemporary art and photography and a parade ground which stages several cultural events. We will depart for Turin. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

6th Day: Turin, Departure

Breakfast at the hotel, free time and departure.
