Tour 4 days – 3 nights
1st Day: Tour start, Castellammare di Stabia
Group arrives in Castellammare di Stabia and transfers to hotel. Free time. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd Day: Castellammare di Stabia, Pompeii – Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary
Breakfast and visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary which houses, on the high altar, the painting of Our Lady of the Rosary with Child Jesus. The painting has a frame in golden bronze and is sorrounded by the fifteen misteries of the Rosary, a work of Vincenzo Paliotti, and it is now deeply venerated. The group will have the possibility of attending the church services. Lunch. In the afternoon the tour continues at the archaeological ruins of Pompeii whose story is bound to the nearby volcano’s history. 2000 years ago this Roman city was surprised by one of the most devastating eruptions ever experienced in Italy. The city was rediscovered thanks to an impressive excavation campaign which was started towards the end of the 1700s. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd Day: Castellammare di Stabia, Naples
Breakfast at the hotel and Naples guided tour. This city’s 2500 year old history is represented and explained through many exceptionally valuable artistic and architectural examples. The panoramic tour of Posillipo hill will offer a wonderful view over the Gulf and the walk along Caracciolo, Partenope and Santa Lucia streets leads to the main square Piazza del Plebiscito. Lunch. In the afternoon our tour will guide you through the historic centre area named “Spaccanapoli” starting from Piazza del Gesù up to San Gregorio Armeno with a stop at the Gesù Nuovo Church, at the Chiostro di Santa Chiara and at the San Severo Chapel. We will take a walk through the traditional workshops well-known for reproducing the Nativity scene. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4th Day: Castellammare di Stabia, Caserta, Departure
Breakfast at the hotel and Royal Palace of Caserta tour. Commissioned by Charles VII of Naples, the Royal Palace is Luigi Vanvitelli’s masterpiece. He designed and built a large structure on a rectangular plan with identical facades, one of them facing Piazza delle Armi and the other one facing the huge garden. The palace has four courts, 1200 rooms, 34 staircases and 1970 windows and is sorrounded by a wonderful garden. The group will depart after the visit.
