
Tour 4 days – 3 nights

1st Day: Tour start, San Giovanni Rotondo
Group arrives on Gargano and transfers to hotel. Free time. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd Day: San Giovanni Rotondo
The group will attend the church service and have breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will visit Santa Maria delle Grazie convent where St. Padre Pio lived and died. The tour continues with a visit to the Wax Museum reproducing some scenes from the life and work of St. Pio of Pietrelcina. The selected scenes are shown in a specific sequence of the most important events of the Saint’s life. Lunch. We will have free time to attend church services. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd Day: San Giovanni Rotondo, Monte Sant’Angelo, Vieste
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Monte Sant’Angelo for a visit to the Sanctuary of Saint Michael. The shrine was built between the end of the V and the beginning of the VI centuries. It is dedicated to the memory of three apparitions followed after many centuries by a fourth one. The tour continues with the panoramic visit of Vieste, a coastal village with typical white small houses perched on a rock facing the sea. The Cathedral with its beautiful portal and inner colonnade and the Castle, an imposing medieval construction commissioned by Frederick II of Swabia, are the most interesting sights. The group will have a tour in the historic centre. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4th Day: San Giovanni Rotondo, Pietrelcina, Departure
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Pietrelcina, a town near Benevento, where Francesco Forgione, better known as Padre Pio, was born in 1887. His native house and the museum are a must for a better understanding of the Saint’s life and work. It is almost an emotional experience which explains his unconditional love for God. Lunch and departure.
